Murphy's Airport Car Parking

By: Patrick Omari

Holiday Extras have launched a new video starring Paul Kaye of Dennis Pennis fame. The British star, who you may also know from films such as 'Blackball' and 'It's All Gone Pete Tong' and from BBC TV series 'Two Thousand Acres of Sky', plays Seamus Murphy who runs a rather dubious airport parking service.

Murphy's foul appearance matches his service practices in this humorous take on the pit-falls of trusting your car to a parking company without the proper credentials. The short sketch plays as a promotional video for Murphy's Airport Parking with Kaye stumbling about in inebriated fashion chasing after his 'work force' as they run amok with customers' vehicles.

You may also spot in the video Seamus O'Neil who played John Wylie in Emmerdale and a budding young star in the form of 11-year-old Bradley Phoenix. Bradley has appeared in numerous TV ads and will next be seen opposite England striker Wayne Rooney in a Playstation Football game advert.

Although wildly exaggerated for comedic purposes, several sequences in the video ably demonstrate the potential for mis-placed faith in airport parking companies. The security of your vehicle while you are on holiday is always top priority and leaving it in the care of a company who guarantee adequate customer protection is something many people often over-look. Another part of the service shown somewhat dramatically under-achieving is the transfer service to the airport which is also critical in ensuring a quality experience.

Knowing who you book with is essentially at the forefront of the message from Holiday Extras. Customer security and confidence and the quality of service are too easily accepted as uncertainties when booking on-line.

Airport parking is often a late consideration in the overall scheme of a holiday. The economic benefits of booking in advance have gradually seeped into the public consciousness since the inception of companies like Holiday Extras but the web has opened up greater possibilities for misleading buyers. However professional a website might look, it is the credentials of the company behind the site which is most important. Reputable companies should provide an 'About Us' section with information about their experience and qualifications.

This video is an entirely new venture for Holiday Extras who are aiming to highlight the importance of buying with someone experienced and reliable. With 25 years of experience and an established stronghold at the top of the UK airport parking business, Holiday Extras are in a good position to be promoting the value of a trustworthy service.

The dry humour and dynamic presentation, however, are something newly attributed to the brand and Holiday Extras are waiting to hear whether this can engage a new market and strengthen the positivite response the company has earned to date.
